Döängen – Klågerup

Döängen - Klågerup

Ok so here is a classic example of how the victorious writes the history the way they want. In 1811 there was a big farmeruprising down in southern sweden and the kings men went down here and hacked up some of them to bits and under this mound lies 23 of them and the rest was thrown in prison. The accounts of this event are numerous and the exact number of dead will never be known if they don’t start dig in the fields around. I have read accounts ranging from hundreds of dead buried in shallow massgraves in the fields to this stone that says 23. If you read a sign further down the road they write 40 dead there 🙂

Torderup castle

Torderup castle

This magnificent castle was built in the 1500th century after the old castle burned down to the ground (the ruins of the old castle lies just a stone throw away). Torderup is the old danish spelling of the castle and today we call it Torup.
